Climate

The climate in the region can be considered mild, with clear, however, the continental influence during the different seasons.

Thus, the temperature shows the highest values in July, but the north winds coming from the valley of the Axios (Vardar) and the Southwest (sea breezes) dominated during summer and relieve the vines warm days, especially when overnight.

The lower temperature values occur in January, often invade suddenly cold air masses. Typical are also mild and sunny days that happen around the middle of winter and prepare for the vine grower pruning job.

The average annual air temperature is around 16th C, while the annual raining rate is around 500 mm. Snow is not uncommon.

The variations in temperature both during the day - night and during the winter and summer help in the high quality of the wines of the region.
